Understand why you need to heal your past
There may be multiple reasons why you feel that your past trauma needs to be healed.
When the past is painful, it can cause you to react in certain ways. It can range from finding it hard to trust new people, to believing in injustice and discrimination.
It can also make you unhappy, insecure, and terrified of negative situations and people. However, you don’t need to stay in your past, condemned and haunted by what you’ve experienced.
A traumatic experience has no right to control you for the rest of your life. No matter what went on in your past, it is never too late to learn how to forgive and be healed.
The past is always the past and does not define you!
Break the past down
Some people may feel that even bringing up the past will bring back painful memories, so they stay silent. However, there is an extreme amount of pressure on survivors to remember the abuse they’ve faced as children and not let their past define them.
We must understand that in order to heal, you have to confront the memories you’ve lived with your whole life.
Find a way to channel your emotions
The next step to getting over your past is to try and channel your emotions into something positive.
By doing this, you will be able to help yourself and others. You will no longer be weighed down by past trauma. Instead, you will feel more uplifted and positive.
For example, instead of getting upset by an experience, you can turn it into positive learning. If you were caught stealing as a child, you could put that experience into positive terms. This way, you can view the experience as a learning experience and understand that what you did was wrong.
You may also find that you can use your past experiences as examples to teach your children or other family members. If you were mistreated as a child, you could encourage your kids to avoid making the same mistakes you did.
Learn how to forgive yourself
Many of us feel an intense sense of guilt or shame. For some of us, it’s probably a feeling that dates back to childhood.
You may have done something that you’re ashamed of, or you may have lived in a terrible environment, or you may have committed crimes or been abused.
In any event, you’ve felt guilty about it or may still feel guilty about it, and this is something that you have to forgive yourself for.
You have to forgive yourself for doing or not doing something because you’re probably a good person from the inside. You’re the one that can’t forgive yourself for things you can forgive others for.
Like they say, “What we don’t forgive, we will eventually forgive.”
Now that you’ve forgiven yourself, you have a much easier time forgiving others.
Look for support from others
Though we often don’t want to admit it, we’re not alone. We are part of a family of survivors, and being there for someone during a difficult time is a great way to help them through it.
That’s why reaching out to others is a great way to overcome your past. It will help you feel less alone and help bring you closer to others in your family of survivors.
If you have family members or friends who understand what you’re going through, you can find support in helping them to heal. There is a great community of survivors on the Internet who can also help you. With the web, you can always find other people who are in the same situation.
We all need to talk about our pasts, and with that comes powerful healing energy.
Take care of your physical and mental health
If your life is currently full of pain and distress, you may not have time to address your emotional issues or put in the time and effort to address the underlying issues. And this is not only because you do not have the energy to do it. It’s because the trauma you are experiencing makes it impossible to prioritize your physical and mental well-being.
Make sure to get enough sleep and exercise. Not only will you feel better, but your body will more likely heal.
Practice Yoga
Yoga offers us a way to move forward. The practice provides a healing outlet for the body and mind.
When we make space for healing to happen, we can start to regain control of our inner lives. We become more present and move forward to a new place, whether that means recovering from past trauma or moving forward to a new life.
If you’ve suffered emotional trauma, yogas in astrology can also provide a way to find solace and clarity as you move through your grief, sorrow, and anger. Yoga can be a source of refuge from the turmoil of your past.
Yoga is also a beautiful way to express your emotion. When we embrace a posture and listen deeply to our breath, the energy of the mind moves downward to meet the energy of our body.
Laugh every day
Laughter is the best medicine, and it’s never too late to start. If you want to get over your past, then take these words to heart.
Start by getting up 30 minutes earlier every day to take care of yourself. Exercise, read, meditate, pray or do anything that makes you feel good.
Laugh every day! Find something that you love to do and do it every day. And remember that this isn’t a sprint- it’s a marathon.
Live at your own pace and be patient with yourself. You will get through it.
Create a vision board
A vision board is a physical or digital representation of your goals and dreams. By creating a visual representation of what you want your future to be, you can work towards it and achieve your goals.
A vision board is a way to start thinking about what you want and envisioning your future. Spend some time thinking about what you want your life to look like, then create a vision board that will inspire you.
How do you make one? You can create a physical vision board by pasting pictures of what you want your life to look like on a poster board. Or, if you prefer, you can create a digital vision board by keeping your images in a folder on your computer or phone.
No matter how you make it, the important thing is that it gives you a visual representation of what you want and inspires you to keep going. It’s helpful because it can give you something to look at when you’re feeling discouraged and remind you that there are better days ahead of you.
Get out of your comfort zone
One of the best ways to make it easier to get over your past is to get out of your comfort zone.
It might seem counterintuitive, but people who go through difficult things often feel like they deserve nothing better. This is because they’ve been conditioned to believe that the world is difficult and people are mean.
But, this isn’t true!
The world is actually quite kind and good, and if you keep yourself in your comfort zone, it will be difficult for you to find anyone willing to show you that.
So, if you want to make it easier to get over your past, start being more social, traveling more, or trying new things. Get out of your comfort zone and show yourself that the world is actually quite nice!
