IOS and iPadOS 14.4.1 update

Apple has released small updates to its operating systems iOS and iPadOS 14.4.1, watchOS 7.3.2, and macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 that are worth installing.

The major iOS 14.5 update is still in beta testing, but Apple today released minor patches to its operating systems iOS 14.4.1, iPadOS 14.4.1, watchOS 7.3.2, and macOS Big Sur 11.2.3. The updates were made available just over a month after Apple released iOS 14.4 to the public in late January this year. The software version number alone suggests that this is a minor update that does not bring any new features that will not be released until iOS 14.5. Today’s versions are still worth downloading and installing OTA (over the air) as they contain important security patches and are recommended for all users.

To update your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings ➔ General ➔ Updates. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the new software. If you have automatic updates turned on as well as automatic downloads, a supported device will automatically download and install the software overnight while the device is charging.

Apple says the new software is recommended for all users and they should install the new software now.

In addition to updating iOS and iPadOS, Apple also released a minor update to watchOS. The new software version is watchOS 7.3.2 and is now available on supported models. To update manually, open the Watch app, go to General ➔ Updates, and follow the on-screen instructions.

To update, your Apple Watch must have at least 50% battery, be connected to a charger, and be in range and paired with your iPhone. After turning on automatic updates, the new software will be downloaded and installed at night while the smartwatch is charging.

Macos Big Sur

As for what’s new, the new watchOS 7.3.2 update also focuses on security updates. Like the macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 version for Mac.
