Use Twitter marketing
Twitter works great for marketing purposes. The microblogging platform seems so simple. But it is precisely that simplicity and speed that make this a powerful medium. You can easily share information here with large groups of people, show what your expertise is and have conversations with everyone who is active there. People ask questions, share current issues, exchange experiences, respond to messages, and bring them to the attention of others. But if you want to use Twitter for your marketing, you naturally need a good Twitter profile.
Fill in your Twitter profile properly
Organizations use Twitter as a channel to increase their brand awareness, to bring their offer to the attention of a large audience, or to attract visitors to the website. When people come across you online, this is often the first encounter they have with you.
- Make a good first impression by filling in your profile.
- People decide on the basis of your profile whether they follow you (back).
- Few people follow a profile that doesn’t look legit without a photo or profile description.
So make sure to add a photo and a background photo as well. If you manage an account with several people, you can choose to use the name of your organization and your logo. As a freelancer or individual employee, it is better to use your own name and add a clear, recognizable photo of yourself. A photo usually works better than a logo because people prefer to talk to people rather than a logo. The profile description, which very briefly states who you are and what you do, must be immediately clear. Otherwise, people simply drop out.
How can you optimize your Twitter profile?
So for best results, make sure your Twitter profile is optimized. This implies:
- Use your company logo or photo as a Twitter avatar (profile picture).
- Choose your company name or own name as your Twitter username.
- Try to send 5 to 20 tweets a day, every day!
- Make sure to also mention or tag relevant users in tweets.
- Make use of link shortening tools that also track statistics such as bit.ly.
- Post images regularly, preferably of good quality.
- Respond quickly and appropriately when people ask a question or engage in a conversation.
